Registering with Us and Named GPs

The Registration Process

To register with us, you have to live within the CT8 postcode.

You can register online. Click this link to register with Westgate Surgery.

You can also bring proof of your CT8 address, i.e., utility bill, bank statement, etc., to reception. Our reception team will then give you a registration pack. They will also book you for a registration appointment. You’ll need to complete the pack and bring it to your appointment.

If a child or adult can’t apply to register, a Parent/Guardian or Carer can apply for them.

Our Extended Practice Boundary

This extended boundary is ONLY for registered patients.

This goes up to, but doesn’t include:

  • Rancorn Road in Westbrook.
  • High Street in Garlinge.
  • Epple Road in Birchington.

The surgery will keep any current patients if they move within this boundary.

If you have any questions about our boundary, please contact the surgery.

Named GP

All patients have a named, accountable GP. This is the GP that will be responsible for your care at the practice. If you don’t know who this is when you’re registered, please ask our reception team.

Philosophy of Care

We aim to provide quality care. For many years, GPs have managed this through having their own list of patients.

The Government is now rolling out a system that tells you who your GP is and who handles your care.
